WELCOME!

My name is Tim Rovnak and I've been playing piano for 34 years. Since 1994, I've been performing professionally in the Phoenix area.

I started Arizona Piano Lessons in 2003 inspired to share my lifelong knowledge of music with others.

Playing an instrument such as the piano can enrich the life of any child or adult and can create many wonderful experiences. I decided that music instruction, from beginner to advanced, should provide a solid foundation while being enjoyable, and compliment each individual's interest. Your experience in learning music should be both rewarding and fun!

LEARN TO PLAY PIANO!

In our program, a child as young as 5 can begin learning piano. Beyond fundamental instruction, activities for all students include improvisation, ear training, and song writing. Every year we record a song from each student and produce a CD with all of the performances for everyone to enjoy.

Arizona Piano Lessons is a team of experienced instructors, accomplished in many different styles including classical, jazz, blues, gospel, pop, rock, and country. Our goal is to teach proper piano mechanics and to train your mind and ears to make sense out of music.

The language of notation is how we visually translate music for our hands to play a piano. Our instruction will enable you to read and play sheet music, and enable you to interpret and play chart music.

Our ears are the most important tools in the world of music. They guide us through the music we play and create. They decide what sounds appealing. Let us know what you would like to hear yourself or your child play, and we will teach it!

 TIM ROVNAK 

 Tim studied Electronic and Computer Music and graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1989. He is an award-winning composer and performer. This picture was taken in the Cabaret Theater at Taliesin West.

Gabe has a degree in Music Therapy from Arizona State University. He has been performing piano for more than 16 years and teaching for 7. He is experienced in teaching special-needs children. Gabe is also an award-winning accordion player.

MATT WILLIAMS

Matt has a degree from ASU in Jazz Piano Performance and has been teaching for more than 3 years. He instructs master classes for ASU music students and clinics for Phoenix High Schools. Matt is very active in community charity work.
